I'd like to play a horse character.

You find yourself standing in the middle of a vast grassland, all around you a lush jewel green that is springy beneath your hooves. The sunlight shimmers off the leaves of majestic oak trees that dot the landscape and a gentle breeze sifts through your mane. Far ahead, perched on the branch of an oak you can see a squirrel chewing on something vaugely shiney and seeming frustrated by it as it bashes it on the branch. Do you try to see what the squirrel has? Or inspect the landscape for anything else that might be living there?

Since shiney things aren't too common here, I will wonder over to see what the squirrel has, hoping maybe it's something pretty I can wear or give some beautiful mare I may want to impress. I get to the oak tree and gaze up at the squirrel, counting on that it will eventually drop what it can't eat.

As you look up at the squirrel, the squirrel finally gets fed up and lobs the "acorn" at the nosy pony, smacking you square in the forehead and then running up higher into the tree, chittering angrily. You didn't catch where the "acorn" landed and you stand dazed for a moment, not sure whether to look for the "acorn" or go give that nasty squirrel a piece of your mind D:<

I shake my head and take a moment to orient myself. I glare angrily at the squirrel but know I wouldn't be able to reach him to do anything. I snort and turn around to kick at the tree to show my displeasure. Then, satisfied I taught that squirrel a lesson, I start to examine the ground for the shiny object, gently parting the grass with my hoof.

The squirrel screeches at you for battering it's home so and darts into a small den high in the treetop to hide. As you nose through the grass you find other bits and pieces and leavings from the squirrel. Nut shells and acorns, small rocks, and finally the shiny topaz the squirrel had been chewing on. Will you pick up and keep the topaz? Or leave it there and continue on?

I smile to myself, knowing that squirrel will think twice about throwing anything at a stallion again. I gaze at the topaz, marveling in its beauty. I scoop it up, never know when something like this will come in handy, and look around for a safe place to keep it.

(You can keep it in your mouth Chipmunk cheeks pony! *dies a little inside. not a lot, just a little*)

Far off through the trees a different sort of rustling can be heard, something larger is coming toward you, will you stay and see what it is? Or think BEAR and run away?

I turn to the direction this thing is coming from, being the overly confident young stallion I am, and prepare to take it head on. I plant my feet and try to keep my legs from shaking. I snort and shake my head, in horsey fashion, trying to show that I'm tough and that no one should try to mess with me. Though, if it does turn out to be a bear, I don't know if there will ever be a horse that could run as fast as I will.

(lmao gotta love cocky studs)

The crashing comes closer yet, now, some nearby bushes begin to quiver and suddenly a dark gray blur bounded out and let out a squeal upon seeing Haven and scrambled to stop, but it was no use, the blur's feet slipped on the grass and it tripped right into Haven, taking him out like a semi-truck plowing through a store. The heavyset filly and Haven both landed in tangled, horsey piles and the squirrel poked it's head out and barked at them for again disturbing the peace.

"Sorry about that." She said sheepishly, straightening herself up and getting back to her feet. "I didn't expect there to be anyone out here." She looked genuinely apologetic about running into the stranger and her body language spoke volumes about how embarrassed she was.

I pick myself and my wounded pride up and check myself over with a Hmph and an angry snort. The nerve of this filly, running wildly like that and knocking me down. "You should watch where you're going," I snap, probably a little harsher than I meant for it to sound. I straighten myself out and stand tall, trying to look as much like the magnificent stallion I am. "You're not hurt, are you?" I ask, a little softer this time.

She held her head low, her whole posture apologetic, "I'm sorry." She really hadn't meant to hit him, she didn't even know he was there, but hearing him ask if she was alright, she perked back up. "Yeah, I'm fine, it happens all the time." Her grin was lopsided but genuine. From the gangly-ness of her frame, it would be easy to believe that she could be so clumsy.

I consider her for a moment with my head cocked. She seems odd, not like any other filly I've ever met. "I couldn't imagine," I say with a dry, cynical tone in my voice and shake my head, showing off my long, flowing mane. I swoosh my tail around to make sure no dirt or grass is still on me. "Why were you running like that anyway?" I grumble.

She cocked her head for a moment and though, then the crooked grin returned to her face, "Because it's fun silly! Racing around the trees, jumping over bushes, running away from the squirrels..." One could tell her heart was really in it to run like that. "It makes you feel free." She spoke breathlessly.

"Uh huh" I say, slowly. 'There may be something wrong with this horse,' I think to myself. 'I like running as much as the next horse, but.. wow.' "Well, it was nice meeting you, or more like smacking into you, but I'll be on my way." There is a patch of grass and clovers somewhere with my name on it. I turn and begin to walk away.

"Can I come with you?" She blurted out hastily. The thought of being left alone here again sent a deep stab of fear into her heart. This stallion wasn't exactly the friendliest horse she had ever met and he probably thought she was weird, but it was far better than being alone.

I stop in my tracks. 'Darn it.' I turn slowly, my mind racing to think of an excuse for me to go alone, but when I look at the expression on her face, my words catch in my throat. Surprisingly enough to me, I can't seem to be that mean to her. I sigh and say, "Come on." I start to do the running walk that my breed is so known for. At least while she's around I can show off a little. Besides, it may be dangerous out here, and I can always just use her as a shield.

Hearing him say that she could come sent a delighted feeling coursing through her veins, for nearly all of her very short life, she'd been alone, and now she had another horse to be with! 'Finally, a herd!' She thought with glee and trotted off after him, lifting her dish plate draft hooves in the showy yet graceful trot that only drafts can accomplish.

(Whee! So excited. *does happy dance* How long do you still want to rp? I'm not sure how long this event lasts.)

(Hooray! I'm enjoying this. This is the most rp'ing I've gotten in months.)

I look over my shoulder, watching her prance. I shake my head but can't help laughing to myself. 'What have I gotten myself into? Now I'll never get rid of her.' I think as I look for a nice, quiet place to graze. Perhaps somewhere to get a drink as well.
