Nighthenge is here and ready to go Very Happy

I'm going to attempt to RP by boy Apollo. No experience between the two of us so it ought to be *coughs* interesting.

(lol well, now will be a good chance to get to know each other ^_^)

The rocky cliffs loom above you, their sheer height an obstacle in and of itself, but amidst the faint whistle of wind through the crevasses, you can hear a forlorn whinny, but where? To your left lies a path out toward the safety of the plains, but to your right is another more treacherous path, up the rocky cliffside, where falling down looks like more of an option than remaining in one piece. Which path do you choose?

Apollo is lonely and feels the need to find the source of the whinny. He stares up at the cliff face momentarily and shakes his head. He know's he's no mountain goat. Attemting to climb here is too dangerous but, perhaps there is another way? He heads to the left to see if there is a pathway around or, at least, and easier place to climb up.

Apollo is lucky, just around the next corner is a wider path that doesn't look half so life threatening. Upon reaching the top he finds that ahead is a swiss cheese like series of cracks and crevasses in the cliff, and no other horses. Where do you think the whinny came from? Should you investigate farther? Or go back down where it's safe?

Apollo investigates a bit but finds none of the crevasses are large enough for a horse of his size to get through. He doesn't think even a foal could get in there but calls a hello just in case. He listens for an answer.

From far ahead is a very faint answering whinny, but it's so hard to tell where it's coming from. Will Apollo recheck the holes? Or assume the the whinny is from somewhere else? Behind the cliff perhaps?

Apollo tries to wiggle into the largest of the crevasses but it's just no good. He's too big to manage and will get stuck if he continues. There must be another way!
He tells the voice, "Keep calling so I can find you!" He then searches for a way around.

Eventually the whinny would lead Apollo to a crack just wide enough to let him through, at the end of the crevasse is a sudden shallower drop, and at the bottom, a dirty little foal looks up at Apollo hungrily, whinnying his hunger at the stallion, regardless that it's another stallion that could very well kill him. What will Apollo do now? Save the foal from it's hole?

Apollo blinks in astonishment. "A foal, alone!" That's not right he thinks. But, there are no other horses around...not that he can find. The little one must have wandered off from his mom.
He speaks soothingly to the baby. He asks the little one to move back and then jumps down into the hole with it. He checks the foal over to be sure it isn't injured then encourages it to jump up out of the shallow hole.

The baby follows Apollo's orders, and makes a pathetic attempt at a leap from the hole, barely making it out. The effort seemed to take a lot out of the little foal and he stands with his head down and his legs spread, his little lungs heaving. It was rather clear that with the way his ribs were showing through the baby fuzz of his coat, he hadn't eaten for a while. "Thank you" he wheezed weakly and laid back down on the ground to catch his breath

"You're welcome. How did you get separated from your mom?" Apollo asked as he moved to block the sun and give the foal shade.
"Don't worry now, he said, "I'll keep watch so you can rest. When you feel strong enough there is grazing not too far away. Then, we can look for your family."

The little colt laid gratefully in his shade, he was glad now for the company of the other stallion and closed his eyes gratefully. "I was playing, the other colts dared me, and then they left me..." He trailed off weakly as he fell asleep.

"Poor little bit," Apollo thinks, "it's hard to be the one left behind."
Apollo hopes the foal is strong enough to make it down to the plains and old enought to eat the plentiful grass there. It's clear the little guy needs feeding and Apollo can't help with that.
Apollo cocked a hind leg and waited for the baby to wake. "I hope the little guy's family is the sort to ask questions first and not blame me for him going missing," he said to himself.

The colt's family had moved on long ago when the were unable to find him, so he was all alone now, a forgotten baby left to the odds of the world.

(Poor little guy!)

Apollo judged that a few hours had passed. He needed to wake to colt up. They both needed to eat and finding a water source would be a good idea as well.

He bent down to nudge the colt awake. This little herd of two needed to be on their way down to the plains.

The colt awake slowly to the nudge and looked up at Apollo almost hopefully before realizing that the big bald-faced stallion was indeed not his mother. Then got to his feet wearily and followed the stallion to freedom.

(Congrats, you get to keep the colt ^__^ His image will be posted on friday, we can keep RPing if you'd like, but I did't want to bore you with grass lol)

I can't wait to see him!

I suppose there is not much action in two horses grazing...
